Wife murders husband to claim Rs. 1 crore life insurance policy; woman, two accomplices apprehended

Maharashtra: In a heinous act, a middle aged man was murdered by his wife including two accomplices. The drastic step has been taken to claim a life insurance policy of Rs 1 crore. The incident happened in Beed district, Maharashtra.

The deceased was identified as Manchak Govind Pawar (45), a resident of Renapur in Latur. On June 11, Pawar’s body was found on Beed Pimpergawan Road on the Ahmednagar Highway, India today reported. The police have opened an investigation into the case.
The accused wife, Gangabai (37), misled the preliminary investigation and tried to pass off the murder as an accident. However, upon investigation, the police found the wife’s statement suspicious. They took her into custody for further questioning where she confessed to committing the crime, along with two other people, to claim her insurance money.

During the investigation, it was found that the victim was brutally hit on the head due to which he died. Investigators revealed that the woman hired the killers and paid them Rs 2 lakh each to commit the crime.

A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and all the accused have been arrested.

Recently, in April 2022, a 48-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly murdering her husband with repeated blows to the head with an iron bar. Similarly, in May 2022, just 36 days after the wedding, a woman killed her husband along with her lover and four friends and relatives.
