Lucknow, May 1 (UNI) On Labor Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has rolled out a new platform – the e-Pension Portal – to ensure transparent and hassle-free pension to retired government employees. Launching the portal on Sunday, the Chief Minister said, “Labor Day marks the hard work and contribution of every worker to the growth of the state. The e-Pension portal will put an end to the difficulties of pension recipients and make the process transparent, paperless, contactless and cashless. Taking note of the complaints and grievances of state government employees retiring from service, the portal will track the status of their claims (PPOs) and make life easier for thousands of people who will benefit. “Thanks to technology, Uttar Pradesh over the past five years has brought revolutionary changes in the lives of its 25 million people. The government is making constant efforts to introduce technology in all areas,” the chief minister said. Speaking of the portal, Yogi said it was the Department of Finance’s effort to end the pain and agony of the elderly. “This end-to-end online pension portal is designed to simplify the pension collection process and will eliminate the need for retirees to physically travel,” he added. On occasion, Yogi said that we should emphasize the good use of the knowledge, experience and efforts of retired employees who can add value to the progress and development of the state. Praising the services of the workers, Yogi said, “The hard work of every worker counts and has contributed to the progress of the state. You will be recognized as ‘Pension-Yogi’ and not ‘Pension-Bhogi’, because you are a ‘Karm-Yogi’, he remarked. Working on the guidelines provided by the Union Government, the State Department of Finance has created the portal which will have the ability to track the status of employees who reach the age of 59.5, it will benefit approximately 11.5 lakh state pensioners. This system has been set up for state government employees and soon other departments will also join the process which will benefit thousands of people and no one will have to wander for their retirement, the CM said. Listing the government’s efforts to provide social and economic security to workers, Yogi pointed out that every worker, whether migrant or resident, has been provided with insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh and health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh. In addition, in order to provide adequate education to the children of workers who continue to migrate for work, the government has also made provision for “Atal Boarding Schools”. UNI MB SY 1457
