The partnership involves Clovia as a vehicle for insurance to reach consumers through its platform, while Alliance Insurance as an insurance partner to facilitate breast cancer insurance policy.
In India, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every four minutes. With breast cancer accounting for 14% of cancers in Indian women, this initiative aims to raise awareness of the disease, the company said.
The company will provide INR 25,000 insurance coverage to clients aged 18-65 for a purchase of a certain value on the Clovia website. The insurance policy is renewable for life and can be claimed upon diagnosis of breast cancer, however, this does not apply to pre-existing treatments.
The term of the policy covers a period of one year with a mandatory 90-day waiting period for the policy to be used. This coverage will be eligible for both minor stages of breast cancer and also major stages of breast cancer, the company added.
Speaking about the initiative, Aatur Thakkar, Co-Founder and Director of Alliance Insurance Brokers, said, “With this initiative, we aim to reach five lakh women in the next quarter and protect them with breast cancer coverage. . Insurance coverage may continue to increase with the purchase of more products, providing more coverage. The initiative will also help us raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer insurance.
